仔細研究近年TOEFL聽力試題，必須承認其在形式上篇幅增長、信息量加大的趨勢。同時也不可否認，其在內容上也越來越向Daily（日常生活化）和Functional（功能意識化）的趨勢發展。畢竟聽力考的還是口語的交際能力嘛。

Daily（日常生活化）和Functional（功能意識化）的一大特徵就是：不斷使用口語短句。有的短句甚至短到只有一個單詞構成，英語稱之為One-word sentence。比如：Bravo!（太棒了！），Drat ! （討厭！），Lousy!（差勁！）等等。

恰恰就是這樣的口語極短句成為很多考生聽力的“攔路虎”，想來不可思議。其實原因很簡單：因為我們中國人從一開始學英語，就“重讀寫，而輕聽說”，故本末倒置，雖掌握了連老外都為之瞠目結舌的辭彙量和語法規則，卻忽視了最值得學習的那些簡單的聽說交際語言。

打破中國人的“難言之隱”，不是一朝一夕就能完成的。但為了應對當前的託福考試，我們也只能“臨時抱佛腳”，爭取在最短的時間內，達到最好的學習效果。
